About Us

We are Project FolkLog, a flagship initiative, committed to preserving the timeless tradition of folk stories and storytelling using modern technology.

Since 2015, we’ve travelled across the country, from Kutch to the Sunderbans, Kashmir to Tamil Nadu, archiving folktales, folk songs and performative arts that reflect the regional diversity of Indian folklore. Our archive now features over 1,100 multi-regional tales in several Indian languages.

What began as a passion for childhood stories has evolved into a robust platform for literary preservation, heritage conservation and creative audiovisual storytelling. We work closely with artists, storytellers and communities, encouraging community involvement and artistic collaboration to document, archive and feature traditional narratives with wider audiences. Our content includes animated stories, audio stories, and video storytelling, reaching viewers through interactive storytelling formats.

Based in Noida, we are an impact-driven creative house that turns stories into meaningful multimedia experiences. We specialize in cultural initiatives that ensure the legacy preservation of India’s rich art, culture, and history. For us, storytelling isn’t just a tool — it’s the driving force behind everything we do.

Our Vision

Project FolkLog envisions a world where storytelling becomes a powerful tool to shape minds, spark imagination and preserve the soul of a culture. We believe stories shape identity, inspire empathy, and connect generations. At the heart of our vision is the desire to make India’s vast and diverse treasury of folk tales accessible to children and families everywhere, fostering a deep love for our cultural heritage from an early age.

Through cross-disciplinary collaboration, with writers, artists, animators, storytellers, and producers, we bring these stories to life in compelling, contemporary ways. The FolkLog App is a vibrant extension of this mission, offering an immersive, multimedia experience of India’s folk stories like never before.

Each story in the app is treated as an artistic masterpiece, thoughtfully interpreted through regional folk art, be it the delicate threads of Chamba Rumal from Himachal or the intricate patterns of Madhubani from Bihar. By weaving folk stories with art forms, we not only preserve India’s traditional narratives but also celebrate its visual and performative heritage.

At its core, Project FolkLog is about nurturing curiosity, enabling cultural continuity, and ensuring that the wisdom and wonder of Indian folklore are passed on, beautifully, playfully, and meaningfully.

Our Founder

Vandana Pant

Founder & Managing Director

Vandana Pant is an accidental storyteller who went on to become a writer, filmmaker, museum curator. She’s on a mission to weave storytelling into everything—whether it's in physical spaces, digital worlds or somewhere in between. From curating iconic spaces like the Jayaprakash Narayan Interpretation Centre and Smritivan in Kutch to crafting light and sound shows, podcasts and documentaries, she brings stories to life wherever she goes.

Following the launch of Project FolkLog in 2019, she expanded the ecosystem with Logon Ka Folklog, a multilingual online festival and FolkConnect, a virtual UK-India artist residency. All roads have since led to the launch of the FolkLog App in 2023.

Her storytelling adventures have taken her from classrooms to conferences and from Kutch to Scotland. Through it all, she remains rooted in one belief: when children grow up with stories from their own soil, their roots run deeper.
